Notes: 2026 ORIGINAL 13 ODYSSEY 3,500 Mike Bicycle Journey
To embark on a 3,500 mile bicycle journey through the Original 13 States during the nation's 250th anniversary in 2026, mirroring my original ride I undertook 50 years prior during America's Bicentennial. The Betsy Ross House is endorsing my journey (see attachment) and I will donate a historical item that belonged to Betsy Ross as I am a direct descendant! Philadelphia is my final destination on July 4th.
Proposal to 1st Delaware Regiment
As Delaware is known as the First State, I will start my trip at the New Castle Courthouse Museum in New Castle, DE on May 6, 2026. Delaware Governor Mike Meyer will be there as well as Former Governor Jack Markell and both will ride a few miles with me to at least the first stop at Cooch's Bridge Battlefield.
