Dover Days Parade & Celebration (LH) 2019

Notes: This is an all day event with a parade in the morning on a Saturday at Dover Green area in Dover, DE.

All Members:

 Length of Event: All Day – 10am – 4pm

 Arrival Time For Regiment: 7am

 Parking: Please park at designated location after unloading at designated site on the historic Green next to Delaware Continentals monument. Additional information will be emailed to those participating.

 Restrooms: Portapotties and Indoors – fully functioning inside museum

 Food and Beverages Provided: Yes – by Regiment or event organizer for lunch.

 Encampment Setup Level: Small

 Camp Kitchen Setup: Yes

 Camp Kitchen Tent Fly: Yes

 Supply Tent Setup: Yes

 In Ground or Above Ground Fire Permitted: No

 Individual Soldier Tents Permitted: Yes – Indicate to Officer of the Day if bringing your own soldier tent.

 Water Provided: Yes – from volunteer staff at event

 Straw Provided: No

 Firewood Provided: No

Soldier Specific:

 Impression: Delaware Continental uniform preferred. Otherwise, militia.

 Kit Level: Full kit

 Musket Firing: No

Musician Specific:

 Contact Musician Sergeant-Major for music to be played at this event. Military calls also to be demonstrated too if possible.

Civilian Specific:

 Impression: Civilian followers of a military camp.

 Table Displays Permitted: Yes – please indicate display you wish to show to Officer of the Day or Civilian Camp Coordinator (if applicable).

Supporter Specific:

 Please assist in setup and/or breakdown if possible. Also – please bring camera or video camera to take photographs or video if possible. We will look to take posed photos that will be used to help educate the public if possible at each event this year.

 1st Delaware Regiment is #76 in parade. We are at end of parade.

 We will be on the historic Green next to Delaware Continentals monument as last year.

Where: Hazel Rd and Penn Ave, next to the Central Middle School area

Parade kicks off at 9:30 a.m.

We are going to utilize a staggered arrival time again this year. Please help us cut down on congestion by arriving at or after your arrival time.

1 – 25 8:30

26 – 40 8:45

41 – 55 9:00

56 – 70 9:15

70+ 9:30

The parade will march down State Street, starting at Hazel Rd, towards The Green. The parade will not go around The Green this year but will go out in front of legislative hall to end.

Make sure to prominently display your parade number so the parade announcer knows who you are as you approach the reviewing stand and can read your introduction. You will be given your parade number during the parade line up.

Volunteers will be on hand to help people get to their spot in the lineup.

The parade is Rain or Shine.
