This is a full encampment setting - so very much to the period.  We will all be portraying local (Maryland) militia for this event.

The general idea is to create one company of rifles and two companies of light infantry/infantry plus an artillery unit.  One major battle each day (staged in the area of the tobacco barn).  Brits foraging for supplies to support the main force in Philadelphia.  Saturday CL forces advance up and discover Brits, they hold, and push back with artillery support.  Sunday CL forces split, spike brit guns, take barn, push them to the river, and the heck out of here!  During each day each side will send out patrols.  Patrols will have missions that may or may not be force-on-force.  This would be a great opportunity for younger officers to get some command experience.  Think of this like Fort Loudon a couple of years ago.  CL will be encamped where have been in the past - to the right of the main road as you come close to the main area and well before the main house.  Reenactors may begin to arrive at noon or later on Friday.  Mount Harmon has asked for help with the school day event on Friday. Please let us know if you and your unit can assist with this program.

Please leave no trace when establishing setup and breakdown.

Food Trucks: Crave Food Truck and Bayheads Brewing Company on site Saturday and Sunday. No food service Friday evening so please plan accordingly.

Parking: Mount Harmon volunteer parking and handicapped parking is behind the garage. Please follow signs to reenactor parking and park in designated areas only.

Ice & Firewood: Ice runs daily as well as firewood available at camps and more in the back of the tobacco barn.

Hay & Straw: Please reach out to Steve (POC at Mount Harmon) about any hay or straw needed for the BB and CL.

From the Event Organizers:

To All CL Unit Commanders Attending Mount Harmon 2023:

The scenario for this coming event weekend on October 13th-15th is that it is Late Summer/Early Fall 1777 and the Howe brothers have begun landing British troops up and around the Head of Elk.  There have been many landings with forage parties all around the northern Chesapeake area.  We are the local Maryland militia and have been called out to do our best to stop these foraging parties and in general, be a nuisance to His Majesty's troops and sailors.  It is also rumored that locals are providing goods to these troops near the Sassafras River.

Therefore, please leave your regimental coats behind and instead please bring civilian clothing and hunting frocks for this weekend.  So it is our job to do our best Maryland militia for this weekend.

YMH&OS,

Chris Mlynarczyk

Commander - Rebel Militia
